KPI and KPC recognised in DuPont Safety Awards 2011
Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8), together with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, have been recognised for their exemplary performance and dedication to safety, by being named as finalists in the prestigious DuPont Safety Awards, which reward the most innovative safety initiatives in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This is the first time that two companies within the same organisation have both been finalists in these prestigious awards and for two separate projects
KPI was recognised in the Sustainable Business Impact category for its Safety, Security, Health & Environment Management System (SHINE) project, while KPC impressed the judges in the Visible Management Commitment section. Winners were selected by an independent jury comprising representatives of leading European occupational health and safety organisations.
The award ceremony took place in Istanbul, as part of the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work. Fouad Qabazard, SHE Group Manager, and Pietro Della Monaca, Regional SHE Manager KP Italy, attended on behalf of KPI, with KPC represented by Sami Al Yaqout, Occupational Health and Safety Manager.
Hussain E Esmaiel, President of KPI, comments: “We are deeply committed to achieving world class standards of safety and are delighted with this recognition of our efforts. It is especially pleasing that both KPC and KPI have been named as finalists, which demonstrates the strong ethos of safety that runs throughout our organisation.”
