Lubricants

Lubricants are an important part of KPI’s business. Kuwait Petroleum International Lubricants (KPIL) is the KPI division fully dedicated to lubricants, operating under the Q8Oils brand. Basic raw materials come from KPI's Europoort refinery in the Netherlands, where Kuwaiti crude oil is processed into some of the finest quality lubricant base oils available. These base oils are manufactured into finished lubricants at five blending plants - strategically located in Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Sweden and the UK - to rigorous specifications set and monitored by KPI’s independent research arm, Kuwait Petroleum Research and Technology (KPR&T).

This consistent product quality is reinforced with QS9000, ISO9001 and ISO9002 quality certifications for manufacturing, customer service and logistics operations. In addition, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 environmental and health and safety accreditations demonstrate KPIL's ongoing commitment to protecting the environment and the health and safety of customers, employees and the public.

A diverse portfolio of over 1,600 different lubricants ensures KPIL has the right products for end use applications in the automotive, marine, industrial, construction, and metal working industries. In addition, the unique qualities of KPI base oils makes them highly sought after as process oils, for specialist industrial and other manufacturing end uses.

KPIL markets directly in the Benelux countries, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK, and exports direct to end consumers and through authorised distributors to over 75 countries worldwide. Lubricants activities in Sweden are managed through the OKQ8 joint venture, and in Thailand through Kuwait Petroleum Thailand.
